At Camp Tournesol, we work to nurture a lifelong love of French, no matter where your camper is in their French language journey! You have the option to register your camper in one of two streams, depending on their current French background:
(4-13 years)
Is your camper not in a French immersion program and/or you don’t speak French at home, but you still want them to build vocabulary and skills? Foundations is for them!
(4-13 years)
If your camper is in a French immersion program or you speak French at home, and you’d like them to build fluency and proficiency, our Mastery stream is the perfect choice.
With our goal of campers improving their French language proficiency and confidence, no matter what level of skill they join us with, our programming continually incorporates French learning in a way that just feels like fun. How do we do it? Read more about our approach.
Let’s get their summer fun in 2026 started! Registering for camp is easy, but hurry – weeks fill up fast!
To see if the site and week you’re interested in has availability, login or create an account, and select your location.
All locations except those noted as “Waitlist” have availability, and you will be able to register your camper(s). If your week has a waitlist, you will have the option to add your camper to the waitlist and/or purchase other weeks if you’d like. If and when a spot becomes available, we will contact you to let you know. Waitlists are of course first come, first served.
Yes! This location has air conditioning.
Typically, our counsellor to camper ratio is 1:7. In other words, there is 1 counsellor for every 7 campers.
The majority of our counsellors are university and college students (some secondary school students are hired each year, as well). We also employ teachers who want to create an impact in the summer months, as well as students and graduates of teachers colleges across Ontario. A recent Vulnerable Sector Police Check is mandatory for all counsellors. There will be at least one counsellor present at each camp location with their First Aid certification at all times. Of course, all of our counsellors are fluent in French.
Our French Foundations and French Mastery stream spots are not limited, we allow registration for each on a first come basis, up until the total capacity for that location and week is reached. We find this almost always results in a good mix of proficiency levels, resulting in all campers building on their French knowledge.
