The Chef d’Équipe is a strong leader with excellent interpersonal communication skills. The Chef d’Équipe is very organized, knows how to motivate a team and enjoys working with children.

Future Opportunities
The responsibilities of a Chef d’Équipe include but are not limited to:
Overseeing staff of all positions to ensure health and safety, emergency protocols and Camp Tournesol policy is being adhered to. Implementing corrective action if necessary.
Manage conflicts between campers and behavioural concerns
Ensure the smooth running of camp operations at your location
Liaison with the facility contact, ensure staff and campers are adhering to facility rules, cleanliness, security protocols, etc.
Developing activities / games to help fill programming in consultation with the Animateur Senior’s (if needed)
Performing duties of a Moniteur / Monitrice in an emergency
Modelling appropriate behaviour and creating positive interactions
Engaging parents by providing appropriate and professional feedback
Train staff at your facility
Ensuring a smooth pick-up and drop-off process at the start and end of each day
Effectively communicating when parents seek assistance about camp or their children
Purchasing extra camp supplies when approved by the Management Team
Mentoring Counsellors-In-Training (CIT) at your location
Administrative tasks including completing various camp reports, submitting attendance, etc.
Carrying out reasonable duty requests from members of the Management Team
Attending the mandatory training period for all Chef d’Équipe’s (June 24 – 26, 2025)
Note: Candidates applying for any position with Camp Tournesol Espoir Inc. must have a valid certificate in Standard First Aid with CPR-C from a reputable provider of first aid training as recognized by WSIB / WCB / WorkSafe BC, as well as a Police Check in the Vulnerable Sector that was issued no earlier than August 22, 2024.
Must be fully proficient in English and French
Previous experience leading a team or supervising staff
Graduated from or currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Education at a post-secondary institution (considered an asset, not a requirement)
Previous experience working in a leadership capacity is considered an asset, but not required
Knowledge and understanding of French curriculum programming and related topics

Teamwork and collaboration skills with the ability to take initiative
Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to adapt to change
